Programs and Activity Development

Building the community’s capacity towards self-sufficient vibrancy:

  • mask_makingUsually a hub of activity, Our Community Centre hosts a number of programs and services for the support of a wide cross section of the communities of Laidley Shire.
  • Community Development can take many forms, and can happen “all by itself”, especially when conditions are right.
  • Our goal is not to try and solve all the problems in our community, but to offer training, resources, support, and encouragement – the right environment – and to those who are willing to be part of the solution.
  • We place a high value on people and offering opportunities for people to develop in leadership, teamwork, life skills, and employment skills.
  • Our Community Centre helps other groups access grants for community projects, provides information that will help toward goals, and supports in management and resourcing.
  • We also offer Strategic Development for communities and groups, and networking to make the right resources more available.
